    The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor (Owner), with funding assistance from the City of Los Angeles, is seeking qualified licensed civil engineers (Contractor) to bid on providing grading and drainage plans and a topographic survey for an outdoor multipurpose sports court located at 1444 W. Q St., Wilmington, Los Angeles, CA 90744.

    The Scope of Work Required Includes:

    • Grading and drainage plan for conversion of existing parking lot on east end of property to an outdoor multipurpose sports court. Plan should include:
      • Excavation/demolition plan of existing approximately 11,100 sq. ft. parking lot
      • Grading for new sport court, including planning for ADA accessibility, accessibility and circulation grades as needed
      • Drainage plan
    • Topographic survey of site area and underground utilities as needed
    • Preparation of Standard Urban Stormwater Mitigation Plan (SUSMP) as needed
    • Scope does not include construction administration

     

     

    Existing Conditions of Improvement Area:

    • Parking lot

     

     

    Description of Planned Improvements:

    • Demolition and re-grading of approximately 11,100 sq. ft. parking lot to incorporate new sports court and new drainage system;
    • Approximately 6,700 square feet (100 ft. x 67 ft.) multipurpose sports court that includes a futsal/soccer court and two small basketball courts. Sport Court will have an asphalt base. Sport Court may not have any additional surface;
    • Approximately 12 feet tall rubber coated fencing surrounding the entire sports court with rolling gates on the south and north ends;
    • Potential outdoor security lighting and sports lighting;
    • A 24 foot x 40 foot modular building, with an approximately 5 foot x 24 foot ramp, at the south of the sports court along the south wall/southern property line. Modular building will not need plumbing, however it will include electrical utility hook-ups.
    • Trash area in SW corner of parking lot may need to be relocated.

    Bids:
    Please make sure your bid addresses the following questions/details:

    •    How long has your company been a licensed civil engineer?
    •    Provide some comparable references in the local area showing your company’s experience in the type of work you've described.
    •    How long do you expect it to take to complete the engineering plans and suveys?
    •    Provide a written, itemized estimate for the engineering work. Identify the staff titles and rates for those who will do the actual work.
    •    Provide a separate cost for any permits or filings required.
    •    Are there alternatives or modifications to the proposal that could bring the costs down?
    •    During the course of the work, what might cause the charges to increase?
